New Animals is an immersive interplay between the sculptural installation Daddy Party آن نافه مراد که میخواستم ز بخت درچین زلف آن بت *مشکین کلاله بود and a shifting ensemble of performers, who both activate the sculptures and are, in turn, transformed by the materiality of the work.The New Animals' performance is full of friction and thick with textures. The hour-long performance – realized in iterations with one, two, and four performers – enacts physical processes of composting and de-composing through embodied gestures . The new animals use their tongues to sense their environments and to interact with other bodies. Licking becomes the means of touch, fluttering feathers, moving chains, and shaking shiny materials. Breath also plays a crucial role: bubbles and foam are created, caught, and caught up with others, changing shapes and altering the surfaces of bodies. highlighting the ongoing processes of living, growing, dying, and decaying,
The performance has unfolded over two years under the direction of Chupan Atashi, developed from a text that serves as both concept and score. This performance is the culmination of two years movement research collaboration between Saman Mahdavi, and Chupan Atashi, and later Yujing Liu and Yadin joined in May 2025, followed by meli in September 2025.
